Compelling Gmail ads.

Hello again, Hello? Much more than rinse and repeat.

Gmail ads are interactive ads that appear at the top of people’s inboxes, in the Social and Promotions tabs. When someone clicks a collapsed Gmail ad, it expands just like an email does. The expanded ad – text, image, call to action – is a great way to connect with people in a more personal-feeling format.

People who expand your ad can save it by clicking the star icon, or the blue Save button at the bottom of the message. People can also forward your expanded ads to someone else as an email message.

You can use various display targeting options, such as keywords, demographics and topics. Gmail ads also use automatic targeting to identify people’s interests.

Say, for example, you run a photography shop; if a Gmail user has recently received a lot of emails about photography or cameras, your ad could show.

Who we help

Google is super careful about the types of content we can serve ads next to, so we can’t target ads based on sensitive information, such as race, religion, sexual orientation, health or financial categories. Which is absolutely appropriate.

Personalisation isn’t about first & last name; it’s about relevant content.
