My big C!

So, my “C” is Camaraderie.

“A mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together.”

I love this line. It sums it up really doesn’t it?

It’s a given, however a given that just needs to be tapped into and reminded now and then.

So, what better way to engage with the team?  I wanted to come up with some fun ways of reaching out but not exhausting the team members with ideas that have been done already or take away time from their daily tasks. I wanted to concentrate on things that would allow us to get to know each other socially a bit better and have a chuckle whilst doing it.

So, an easy one to kick things off with…whenever there is a team Zoom meeting, whether it be social or work based, those that want to, can dial in 10 minutes early and have a quick, hi, how are you before we get down to business. I thought this would be a nice way of just checking in casually without their being too much pressure.

Secondly, how do you get to know people? Ask questions of course!

So, for our Team Night In this month, I put together 10 questions to ask the team, everything from celebrity crushes (don’t ask Georgia, you will never look at her in the same way again!) to dinner party guests to favourite pizza toppings. It is safe to say, I am now looking at my colleagues in a whole new light!

And lastly, my favourite, which just makes me laugh: Rate My Plate. Every now and then, we share some delightful treats we have made for lunch. Now don’t be fooled in thinking these are #foodstagram filtered delights perfect for the gram, oh no. The dodgier the better!

For instance, my lunch one day last week was a box of Aldi knock off Ritz crackers. See, I told you…dodgy.

If sharing my terrible lunch and Georgia’s crush on Simon Cowell (yes, you read that right!) doesn’t instil trust and friendship, then goodness knows what will. All I know is by understanding those I work with on a deeper level makes us a stronger team and therefore we work even better together, despite our questionable confessions.
